A little about the Bloodhound

 

The Bloodhound is one of the most famous members of the Hound dog group. Its placid, calm, and gentle nature makes it very good around children, however, it is also tough, stubborn and independent once it has a scent. With tireless endurance, the Bloodhound can be difficult to distract from a trail.

 

 

BLOODHOUND HEALTH INFORMATION

Most common health issues in Bloodhound's are related to their deep skin folds and floppy ears. Due to these, they are prone to skin fold dermatitis and ear infections (Otitis Externa). They are also predisposed to eye conditions (Ectropion, Entropian), hypothyroidism and Canine Hip and Elbow Dysplasia. As a deep-chested breed they also at risk of Gastric Torsion (bloat).
