The most common health problems that Cavalier King Charles Spaniels experience, despite being a generally healthy breed, are heart conditions (mitral valve insufficiency), patella luxation and hip dysplasia. Other common problems include deafness, keratoconjunctivitis, and brachycephalic airway obstruction syndrome.

A day in the life of "Charlie"
‘Come Charlie,’ my owner says, and we walk together towards the lounge room. My tail just can’t stop wagging. My owner sits on the couch and I jump up to join him, resting my head on their lap.
Their hand combs through my fur slowly, and I lick the other hand in front of me. The doorbell rings and my human gets up. Time to follow! My claws clatter again.
‘Come on Charlie, time for a walk,’ a walk! My ears prick, and I begin to run in loops around my owner.
As soon as they reach the entrance I sit, waiting patiently as the lead is clipped to my collar. The door swings open and we’re greeted by my owners’ friend and their dog. I pant with excitement and leap out the door and down the walkway to the footpath, sniffing every bush as we go. This is the life!
