A little about the Dobermann

The Dobermann or Dobermann Pinscher is a regal and adventurous breed. They make alert guardians for their families and are gifted at obedience. Whilst they are easy to train, some can be stubborn, but all are loyal and loving.

DOBERMANN HEALTH INFORMATION

As an owner of a Dobermann, health concerns that may be encountered are heart disease (Dilated Cardiomyopathy) and Wobbler's Syndrome. Less commonly they may experience Von Willebrand's disease, Canine Hip Dysplasia, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Albinism, Hypothyroidism, Narcolepsy and certain cancers (Osteosarcoma). Like all breeds with a deep-chested conformation, Dobermann's are prone to Gastric Torsion (bloat). Unfortunately, they can also develop destructive behaviour if they are not given enough exercise or mental stimulation.
